This article is center on the “Reading with the NGC Bocas Lit Fest” which has brought the “power of the consciousness of literature to communities such as Princes Town, Charlotteville, Tobago, Scarborough, Tobago, Mayaro, Point Fortin, Sangre Grande and Arima. It is the festival’s hope that this translates into the discovery of home-grown writing talent across Trinidad and Tobago. These poepl believe that Caribbean is the most cosmopolitan region of the world and when the Caribbean speaks it is speaking for the world, and the Caribbean’s varied historical intermingling has given it a voice that speaks to almost all people across the globe.
As I lover of book I enjoyed this ariticle and saw the goal expressed in it to be a neccessary goals. These people want more Carribean people reading and writing in their leisure time which is of course a good thing. I also agreed with the enjoy which focused on how Carribbean literature reflects the world more than anything because the Carribean is such a diverse region. Having more carribean readers and writers will also the world to learn more about Carribean culture and also Carribeans to learn about other aspects of Carribean culture.
Trinidad and Tobago is a diverse region filled with people of native, European, African, and Asian backgrounds. This have lead to tremendous diversity in cultures in this country. Developing a culture of reading more Carribean books will allow these people to learn more about the myraid of cultures in their country and more people writing books can allow the rest of the world to learn more about this diverse country.
